  • I have been a visitor to the Life Center even prior to its opening when Pastor Said showed me the building that was no longer in use that he was praying for. I was there also when he first received the keys for the building and on my return saw how a dilapidated building had been turned into a wonderful facility for the glory of God. It has been a joy to see how the premises has been used for worship, bible teaching and a facility to welcome teams and visitors from around the Middle East and beyond. It is also been great to see how Springs of Life has found a base to teach children from the local community. It has been my delight to see children and parents in the Life Center and to see many of them lift their hands in praise. I am grateful to have been part of the prayer for this ministry and I trust that I and my family to be part of this work in the future to reach out to Lebanon and the people's of the region. • My Year in Lebanon My first visit in Lebanon was in 2011 and lasted 10 days. I had the opportunity teach the members of the church how to personally lead people to Jesus and give them practical training right on the streets. People were very open and receptive and we saw over 400 people receive Jesus through the street evangelism. Pastor Said asked me to pray and ask the Lord if I could come back to the Life Center and stay for 1 year to minister and raise up a team of evangelists that would establish regular outreaches to the people in the church area. So my goal was to find a few individuals in the church that have a passion for the lost and teach and equip them to become leaders in the area of evangelism and train up more believers to win souls. Other then leading the team on the streets I also had the opportunity to get involved with the youth, raising up a ministry of helps in the church, some administration, tutoring, discipleship and pastoral work. Many people know about the Life Center because of the schooling program for children at risk, but it is more than a non profit organization. The Life Center is a church filled with people that love God and minister the love of God to the community. Seeing the team organize different kinds of outreaches and the effect it has in the community is a tremendous blessing. People are not just given material aid but also hope for the future through the message of Jesus Christ and what He has done for them. Through the street outreaches I have personally met and gotten to know many local people with a majority of Syrian refugees. I visited families in their homes and saw their need with my own eyes. If I started to tell you the stories it would take you hours to read about them all and you would be heart broken. Life is hard, uncomfortable and not safe in the middle east and the struggle is written on people’s faces. Many have lost hope and even the will to continue living. But this I know, the church is giving hope to the hopeless. I will never forget all the tears I saw. I will also never forget the smiles and the words of thankfulness I received for simply taking time to listen and pray for someone. All it takes is people that would open their eyes to really see the need AND to do something about it! Everyone can do something! The team at life center is small and has very little recourses but because they decided to DO something and rely on the Lord to help them, hundreds and thousands of lives are being touched and changed. I know that the Life Center is a light in the darkness and if this work would end many people would loose their last hope. My life was greatly impacted this year, my heart was broken many times but to know that a difference is being made makes it all worth it. Life is about people. People are precious and they must be reached with the love of God. I thank the senior pastor Said Deeb for inviting me to come and I thank the entire team for receiving me like family. My life is forever changed and you hold a special place in my heart. Jana Pauls

  • I have has the honor of visiting the Life Center, ministering with Pastor Said and Cecile, as well as staying in the apartment.  It has always been a complete joy!  The apartment is like a second home for us, and we have always been very comfortable there.  The ministry God is doing in and through the Life Center is so powerful.   In everything they do, whether it's feeding the poor, sharing Jesus Christ with children and their parents, taking care of refugees or discipline their community, Jesus is exalted in their midst.  Every time I am with these wonderful people I feel so deeply blessed!

  • My experience in Lebanon was not an accident I always have been destined to be in a beautiful country of the middle east. For years as a child I yearned to be in the middle east I just never knew why or when. It wasn't until I landed in Bourj Hammoud that I knew why. During my stay I experienced Genuine hospitality. The Life center was always clean and even though the lights went off , it was kind of neat to see that happen for me because I learn to appreciate when I got back home what we take for granted at times.
The Food was amazing,Sammy and his wife cooked the best meals.I always looked forward to eating because it was unique and delicious. Cedars of Lebanon and Byblos were one of the most  amazing moments for my life. To Just step foot in such a beautiful land and experience the holy spirit and to be in such a place that brings back so much history,
The Lebanese people were amazing people, The level of hospitality they give with out even trying, is second nature to them and I so miss that. Pastor Said and the staff were truly amazing but the highlight of my trip was the Presidential Palace and visiting the presidents private office.Another highlight was  going to pastor Said hillside home. What a treat! The detail was so personal that I consider one of the the top highlights in my trip.
Church Services were filled with the holy spirit full of love support and encouragement to the people of of Bourj Jammoud. I made so many friends and till these day we encourage each other on face book and even though we might have a bit of a language barrier,Love is universal and we all speak it, we just need to allow it to speak.
I would like to thank the Life Center for the opportunity and Privilege to allow me to serve at the center and in doing so I have learned God is always with us.Thank you for everything Life Center church.

  • Bobby and I just want to say "Thank You" to all of you for allowing us to go to Beirut and the Middle East Life Center for our internship at Rhema School of World Missions.  It was one of the most amazing experiences of our lives, and we feel like we were bountifully and wonderfully blessed to have been able to go there.  Thank you, Reverend Hershey and Pastor Deeb for allowing us to come to your ministry and be part of it; thank you, Reverend Duininck for considering our request and allowing us to go, and thank you, Justin, for being such a wonderful liaison and coordinator for us. The reason I am sending this email to all 4 of you at once is because our internship experience was so completely positive in terms of relationship and ministry that I would highly recommend it as an option for any future internship at RSWM.  I hope that we were good examples of the school, and I highly recommend the ministry, facility, and everything it has to offer to the school for future consideration.  It was great training ground for us. The facility would be able to host a couple, like us, or students who are single or travel alone. There are hostel rooms in addition to the apartment, so any of those places would be good. Thank you for our beautiful accommodations while we were there! We really enjoyed living there.  The ministry opportunities are many and varied.  There are opportunities connected to the  Spring of Life school, a medical clinic, a refugee outreach, a clothing closet, street evangelism, youth ministry, children's church, the Church of God in Bourj-Hammoud, mentoring, discipleship, and "ministering to the ministers" with devotions.  There are frequent guest ministers that minister the Word.  There are media opportunities, construction/maintenance opportunities,  clerical opportunities and there is general work to be done. We would say there is something for everyone. Another reason I would recommend the Life Center is that they were very kind and patient with us. They offered us opportunity, but did not force  participation in anything.  I think if we had been uncomfortable or ill prepared for something, they would have allowed us to decline participation.  They were open and friendly to us and not only respectful, but honoring. They treated us as if we were honored guests, and we are grateful. There was never a sense of elitism about them; they included us in many things and allowed us to participate in their day to day dealings (as much as we could handle- they were much busier than we know, but they didn't overwhelm us. We are very grateful that we spent our internship at the Life Center. It was an amazing blessing to us to be there.  We are looking forward to more times spent together in the future. Thank you so much for your time, attention, and consideration. God bless you all abundantly!!! Lori and Bobby Guidry

  • My time at Life Center was absolutely fantastic.   First of all the facilities they provided were excellent and far beyond what we went expecting. Thanks to all of those who organize it for us.  I was very impressed with the staff at Life Center, everyone we met and was introduced to gave us amazing hospitality, generosity and demonstrated sincere and honest Christian behavior at all times.  They are incredibly gifted, resourceful, committed and hard working people, who run very high standard ministries to the outside community as well as to the members of the church and to the other International congregations who use Life Center's building and facilities. The school, the clinic, the evangelistic and social activities to very needed Syrian refugees as well as the Sunday service are clearly a blessing to those who benefit from it week after week but also to short term visitors like ourselves.  Bookham Baptist Church is committed to pray for you and hopefully to find ways through which we can support you in what you do.  Very well done to all of you guys.   You are all doing an amazing work for God serving Him by serving others."

  • The Life Center at Bourj Hammoud which you oversee. I found the center most warm and welcoming. Strangers feel at home immediately. The worship is alive and the leadership is outstanding. I would recommend the center to anyone anytime.

  • "I was delighted to see the great work that "Life Center of Bourj Hammond, Lebanon is doing when I visited there recently..  This is not just a church that exists to serve its congregation but a church that lives to serve the community - whatever their religious or racial background.  It is a fine model for other churches to follow and is worthy of every kind of support."
